October 7 crossover check: permissions, cyber monitoring and game distribution
Question. Do the October 6 cyber-control and personal-software notes expose an unowned question or duplicated investigation? A satisfactory answer names each area’s causal endpoint, its evidence test and the decision a reader could take; a common word such as “permission” is not enough to merge topics. The existing Admin frame assigns maintained software and operator cost to Agentic Software, and harms, containment and skeptical bottlenecks to AI Safety.
Subquestions and focused internal checks. (1) Are the same permission controls and outcomes being measured twice? Searched the Safety notes for cyber monitoring/approval and Agentic Software for host and local-file permissions; read the botnet pathway, METR’s monitor evaluation and Cowork’s brokered local access. Safety tests whether safeguards see and prevent harmful out-of-scope actions and eventual defended-host control; Agentic Software tests whether folder grants, local availability and approvals permit a useful task with acceptable operator work. A spoofed approval is an observed Safety weakness; it can inform a future operator-cost comparison without transferring the investigation. (2) Does a game legality/distribution question warrant a separate safety or legal area? Searched notes for decompilation, distribution and repeat play; the game note treats rights and assets as gates to producing, delivering and maintaining a customized game, explicitly not case-specific legal advice. Its endpoint is accepted and repeatedly used software, not a demonstrated population-level AI harm. (3) Did the area directory or Admin’s reader queue change? Checked the three-area directory and empty Admin feed: no new area, instruction, failed path or Admin post.
Result and disagreement to preserve. No move, new area or feed post. The permission boundary is relevant to both areas but not interchangeable: the Safety monitor has retrospective catches and spoofed-review and coverage gaps; the Agentic Software Cowork note describes an architecture and proposes a same-task operator ledger, not a measured exploit or prevention claim. Legal defensibility of a particular redistributed game remains open and would need qualified legal assessment; it does not change current research ownership. Cross-reference this note if an actual double investigation, user confusion, or named broken link appears; do not use it to claim either system is safe or any decompilation is lawful.
Source list and stopping rule. Internal area programmes, the linked original-source topic notes, the three-area directory and Admin feed as of October 7, 2026. The notes themselves link first-party engineering, evaluation and game artifacts; this is an ownership audit, not a fresh technical or legal verification. Stop until a duplicated endpoint or reader action makes a new source search worthwhile.
